In
1991 Dianne opened The Print Studio. Funds were received from
Arts SA to assist in setting up the studio which operates
as a venue for printing her own work as well as facilitating
the production of prints by other artists.
The
Print Studio is an access studio, with etching, relief, and
photopolymer printmaking equipment as well as a desktop publishing
facilities. The Print Studio also provides an editioning service
and printmaking workshops in photopolymer printmaking and
traditional printmaking techniques. |

WORKSHOPS
2008
Workshops
are suitable for beginners and those with printmaking
experience. Although each workshop has a particular focus,
the small classes allow for individual projects to be
explored and personal technical tuition to be given.

Workshop materials kit included in fee, with additional materials available for
purchase. Lunch also provided: salad platter with crusty bread. Also tea, coffee,
and spring water.

ACCESS

and New Techniques
The
workshops held at The Print Studio expand upon traditional
printmaking techniques and introduce participants to exciting
new printmaking processes such as photopolymer printmaking.
Digital imaging facilities are used in conjunction with photopolymer
workshops. |

Specialist
Workshops
The
studio is sometimes booked by groups wanting specialist printmaking
tuition. Ernabella artists have spent time at The Print Studio,
as have groups of teachers from a range of schools. |

Regional,
Interstate, Overseas
Dianne
travels to do workshops in regional South Australia, Melbourne
and Sydney, and has run photopolymer printmaking and/or digital
imaging workshops in Rochester, New York, and Tokyo. |

Participation
in the Patron Print subscription series increases the profile
of printmaking in South Australia, and supports the operation
of The Print Studio. A leading South Australian artist is
invited to produce a print at The Print Studio which is offered
as the Patron Print.

Prints from the editions are available for purchase for Aud
$200 plus postage and handling.

DIANNE
LONGLEY is an Australian print artist whose work combines
traditional and digital processes. She runs an access printmaking
studio (The Print Studio) and teaches at Adelaide Central
School of Art and in 1998 published the book, 'Printmaking
with Photopolymer Plates'. Longley has exhibited widely and
won many awards, including the Fremantle Print Artist's Book
Award for a computer generated book 'Night Sea Crossing'.
She has been included in numerous international Print Biennales
and Triennales (including Japan, Korea, Republic of China,
and USA). |

Slight Shift of Attention :: Christopher Orchard
1993
CHRISTOPHER
ORCHARD is an Adelaide based artist who has worked extensively
in London and New York. In addition to being a practising
artist, Orchard also lectures in painting and drawing, visual
art and theory at Adelaide Central School of Art. He has exhibited
at the International Art Fair Olympia, London; Smith's Gallery,
Covent Garden, London; Cleveland International Drawing Biennale.
Currently Christopher exhibits with Adelaide Central Gallery.
Orchard is represented in collections such as the Art Gallery
of South Australia, Art Bank, Adelaide University and private
collections in the United Kingdom, USA, Germany, France and
Australia. |

that Was :: Christine McCormack 1993
CHRISTINE
McCORMACK is a South Australian artist with an established
reputation as a painter, printmaker and sculptor. McCormack's
work portrays the oddness she perceives in the familiar. Her
work has been exhibited at the Art Gallery of South Australia,
Contemporary Art Society (SA), Tynte Gallery, University of
South Australia Art Museum and Flinders University Art Museum.
McCormack is represented in collections such as Art Bank,
Visual Arts/Craft Board (Australia Council), Art Gallery of
South Australia, and various private collections. |

:: Anna Platten 1994
ANNA
PLATTEN is a respected South Australian artist. Her work is
represented in collections throughout Australia including
the Australian National Gallery. Much in demand for commissions,
she balances her art practice with lecturing at the Adelaide
Central School of Art. Platten's work has appeared in many
publications including The Bulletin, The Adelaide Review,
and Artlink. In 1992, the University of South Australia Art
Museum presented a major survey of her work. |

In
Passing :: Olga Sankey 1995
OLGA
SANKEY is a respected South Australian artist especially known
for her lithographs and etchings. She lectures in Printmaking
at the University of South Australia and has won major international
print awards. In 1993 Sankey was commissioned by the Port
Pirie Tourism and Art Centre to produce a large mural comprised
of etched zinc and copper panels. Last year she was one of
six artists commissioned by Flinders University to produce
a print for the Picture Women Folio. Sankey is represented
in public and private collections both here and overseas. |
